  • They often symbolize purity, chastity, virtue, and virginity.
  • Unicorns are mentioned in the Bible in the Numbers 23:22 and 24:8, and in the novel, Harry Potter and the Sorcerer’s Stone.
  • The unicorn’s horn is said to have strong medicinal powers.

    • The famous Carthusian line of Andalusian horses, bred by Carthusian monks, is said to have occurrences of one of two small hornlike growths on the forehead or ear.
